At last, DSS Confirms Emefiele’s Arrest The Department of State Services (DSS) has finally confirmed that Godwin Emefiele, suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), is in its custody. On Friday, Naira saw a significant decline in the value of the naira against the dollar at the Investors and Exporters window, where N472.50 was exchanged for one dollar. When compared to the N469.50 it swapped for the dollar on Thursday, the local currency recorded a 0.64 percent decline. The open indicative rate closed at N471.32 to the dollar on Friday. Oil marketers are currently converting some of their trucks to start supplying gas to filling stations in order to dispense Compressed Natural Gas to vehicles that run on gas. It was gathered on Thursday that about 800 tankers that formerly transported petrol to filling stations, were being converted by marketers to start moving gas to retail outlets. This is contained in a statement by Willie Bassey, Director, IInformation office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation. A sergeant in the Nigerian Army, was on Wednesday killed by a passenger train at the railway crossing at the PWD area of Ikeja, Lagos. The train was said to be on its way to Iddo in Lagos from Ibadan when it eventually rammed into the soldier who had attempted to smartly dash across the rail line on his bike.
