A flood incident in Kubwa axis of Abuja has killed an unidentified commercial motorcyclist who was trying to find his way through a flooded road.

The incident happened on Wednesday following a heavy down pour in the axis.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to The MeridianSpy, said “the motorcyclist got to the road when the rain was subsidising and people were scrambling to find their across the flooded spot on the road.

“that the passenger who the motorcyclist carried alighted while  motorcyclist made his way through the flood. The motorcyclist was carried away by the flood in his attempt to pass through the flooded area on the road.

“We were all waiting for the flood to subside so we could pass. He came and wanted to pass. The person he was carrying had to come down from the motorcycle. And he made his way through the flood.

Immediately he entered the flooded area of the road, the wave of the water brought him down alongside his bike. He was struggling to rescue his bike when the flood eventually forcefully pushed him into the big ditch.”

MeridianSpy reports that the Chikakore/Bwari road is a popular raid which leads to the popular Champions Cathedral owned by Abuja controversial preacher, Joshua Ignila.

The MeridianSpy exclusively gathered that the road has been in shambles for years, and all entreaties by those living around the area to fix it has fell into deaf ears.

A source, who not want his name in print , said the road had been featured in the Federal Capital Territory annual budget severally but funds budgeted for it construction had always been diverted by some politicians in Bwari Area Council.

Another source told The MeridianSpy that the founder and General Overseer of Champions Cathedral, Joshua Iginla, had made moves to construct the road and fix the drainage issue but was repelled by some government officials who have used the road to divert funds for themselves, annually.

As at the time of filing this report, only the motorcycle of the flood victim had been recovered from the flood; all efforts to find the flood victim himself has proven abortive. Search for the motorcycle rider has however continued.
