Customs impounds smuggled Bulletproof Jackets, arms, others in Lagos The Federal Operations Unit, Zone A Ikeja, of the Nigeria Customs Service, said it intercepted a Toyota Sienna vehicle loaded with 15 bulletproof jackets, 15 pieces of jack knives, and 20 pieces of pistol pouches at Ijebu-Ode checkpoint in Ogun State. The Nigeria Labour Congress has issued an ultimatum to the Federal Government to withdraw a lawsuit filed against the organised labour. It is threatening a nationwide strike on August 14, 2023, if the government fails to do so. Former Governor of Kano state Abdullahi Ganduje has been elected the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He succeeds Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who resigned under controversial circumstances last month. Ganduje was elected at the 12th National Executive Committee (NEC) Caucus meeting of the ruling party in Abuja. President Bola Tinubu had earlier shown interest in Ganduje succeeding Adamu. A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Wednesday sentenced a Tiktoker, Nwakaego Okoye, to three years imprisonment for social media bullying of a popular Nollywood actress, Eniola Badmus. Justice Nicholas Oweibo convicted and sentenced Okoye after she pleaded guilty to the charges against her. The judge also gave an option of N150, 000 fine in lieu of the sentence.
