The Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), attracted a total of N369.83 billion new listings across equities, FGN Bonds, mutual funds, and derivatives categories in seven months of 2023. The numbers obtained by Economic Confidential revealed that corporate entities shun listing on NGX as FGN Bonds dominated listing on the bourse in the period under consideration. Manufacturers under the aegis of the Nigerian Textile Employers Association have said that smuggling of textile products through Nigeria’s land borders, has led to the collapse of over 150 textile companies in the last 40 years. The Nigerian Electricity Regulation Commission (NERC) has said the federal government paid the sum of N36bn to subsidise electricity consumption in the first quarter of 2023. In its quarterly report, NERC said the money amounted to the payment of N12bn monthly which was paid to the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET).
