The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Governor, Nyesom Wike as the Chairman of the Edo State Governorship Election National Campaign Council for its candidate, Governor Godwin Obaseki.
The party also appointed Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri as the Deputy Chairman of the Campaign Council.
This was made known in a statement by the PDP spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan on Friday.
“The @OfficialPDPNig NWC has appointed the Governor of Rivers State, H. E. Chief @NyesomWlKE as the Chairman of Edo State Governorship Election National Campaign Council,” Ologbondiyan noted in his official Twitter handle.
“The deputy chairman is Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Fintiri.”
The Edo governorship election is scheduled to hold on the 19th of September.
MERIDIAN SPY reported Thursday, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State was similarly named as the chairman to lead the All Progressive Congress (APC) campaign team for its governorship flag-bearer, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
