FCT Senator Ireti Kingibe has hit back at FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, insisting that no individual can determine whether she returns to the Senate in 2027.

Kingibe said her duty as a legislator is to demand accountability and scrutinise government actions, stressing that the decision on who represents the FCT ultimately belongs to the electorate. She also challenged Wike to produce the Senate’s Votes and Proceedings showing approval for the loans she questioned.

The senator said she would not be intimidated by “insults, threats or political pressure” and vowed to continue speaking on issues affecting the FCT.
