The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State may be heading towards a trying time as thousands of its members defect from its fold to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The defectors denounced their membership earlier today in Nkporo, a community in Ohafia Local Government Area of the state.

They were however formally received by a former governor of the state, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu in a colorful political rally held in Nkporo, Ohafia Local Government Area in the state.

Dr Kalu, welcomed the defectors with elation, and assures them of a special place in the party.

Nkporo, a respected community in the state, is the home town of the Abia State Deputy governor, Dr Ude Oko Chukwu.
