Nigeria’s famous publisher and business mogul, Dele Momodu says President Muhammadu Buhari’s certificate controversy should not be a basic issue of concern.

According to him, supporters should campaign for their candidates on issues of substance, rather than hitting up the polity with frivolous distractions.

Momodu, the Chairman of Ovation International, said this on his verified twitter handle on Friday evening in response to public outrage and criticisms that have trailed President Muhammadu Buhari missing certificate controversy.

The President had in a an affidavit submitted to the independent Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday argued that his WAEC certificate was still with the Nigerian military.

Expectedly, the President’s claim threw the Nigerian media space into frenzy as to why he must present his WAEC certificate to INEC as the Constitution demands.

“Nigerians should campaign for their candidates on issues and avoid frivolous distractions. Buhari in his military courses surpassed WAEC certificates, we should let sleeping dogs lie please.”
