Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has reacted to the recent graduation of 601 repentant Boko Haram terrorists who completed their Deradicalisation, Rehabilitation and Reintegration (DRR) programme of the Nigerian Army and were reintegrated into their various communities.

Major General Bamidele Shafa, the Coordinator of Operation Safe Corridor, announced on Saturday the reintegration of 601 ex-Boko Haram terrorists, including 14 foreign nationals from Cameroon, Chad and Niger into the society through their respective national and state authorities, at the DRR Camp in Mallam Sidi, Gombe State.

MERIDIAN SPY reported earlier N20,000 stipends and some basic equipment were given to the ex-Boko Haram terrorists to practise their respective vocations as they get reintegrated into their communities.

Babakura Jatau, the Borno State Commissioner for Information, told Sunday PUNCH the said funds and the starter packs were given to the repentant terrorists by the North East Development Commission (NEDC) and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM).

Reacting to the development, Omokri wondered why President, Muhammadu Buhari-led government would bar about 1.5 million Nigerian students from sitting for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) to enable them graduate, yet the ex-Boko Haram terrorists are allowed to graduate in “grand style”.

“Under General @MBuhari, Nigerian Laws Dont Apply To Boko Haram. 1.5 Million Students Are At Home, But Buhari’s Beloved Boko Haram are Graduating. While 200 million Nigerians Observe Social Distancing, Boko Haram Ignores It! They are special,” he tweeted on Saturday night.
