Paltel, one of the main telecommunications providers in Gaza, announced on Thursday that due to Israeli aggression, all its services have been cut off.

In a post on X, Paltel stated: “Dear people in our beloved homeland, we regret to announce a complete cessation of all communications and Internet services with the Gaza Strip, due to the ongoing aggression. May God protect you and protect our country.”

Telecom blackouts spur fear across Gaza; make it tougher for medical teams to act.

Qatar broadcaster, Al Jazeera said that such blackouts make it especially hard for medical workers to reach areas that have been targeted in Israeli attacks “to rescue the victims and wounded people from under the rubble”.

Residents in Rafah have now lost the ability to communicate with their relatives in other parts of the Strip, he said.

“Palestinians now have a sense of fear that with every time there is a blackout in communication, Israel intensifies its attacks across Gaza.”

 Hunger rises in Gaza

Meanwhile, the broadcaster reported that in the Rafah district, the amount of humanitarian aid that has been delivered  since the beginning of this round of fighting is considered to be very limited and a drop in the ocean.

“It cannot match the needs of 2.3 million Palestinians, and we’re talking about some people who have gone day and night without having anything to eat or even to feed their children.

“The situation for those people is beyond catastrophic.

“I know some families who did not have anything to eat for days due to the absence of humanitarian aid and the mechanism of aid distribution by the United Nations, where people are forced to stay and cram in front of the aid distribution centres across the southern areas.

Speaking to Al Jazeera from Rafah in southern Gaza, Adnan Abu Hasna said about 100 trucks of aid are expected to arrive in the enclave today, about half of which will go to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees.
