Tinubu will Sign Digital Economy Bill into Law this Week – Minister

Bosun Tijani, minister of communications, innovation and digital economy, says the National Digital Economy and E-Governance Bill, 2025, is expected to be signed into law this week by President Bola Tinubu.

Bosuntijani spoke on Monday at a public hearing jointly convened by the senate and house of representatives committees on ICT and cybersecurity.

“This bill is being awaited by President Bola Tinubu for assent this week, being one of the catalysts for the actualisation of the projected $1 trillion economy,” Tijani said.

The minister said the legislation would be the first of its kind in Africa, adding that it reflects Nigeria’s leadership role in driving digital transformation on the continent.
