President Bola Tinubu has signed the minimum wage bill into law.

This development brings to an end several months of discussions between government authorities, labor unions, and the private sector.

The bill was signed at the State House in Abuja on Monday, just days after its passage by the National Assembly.

Organised Labour represented by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, have had several disagreements with the federal government over the amount that needed to be approved as the new minimum wage.

However, the parties reached an agreement days ago that the new minimum wage amount should be N70,000 which the President has approved to take effect
