Tinubu Meets New Service Chiefs in Aso Rock

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Monday, met with newly appointed service chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja in what marks the beginning of a fresh phase in the country’s military leadership.

Meridian spy gathered that the new military heads arrived at the forecourt of Aso Rock around 4 p.m. in a black Mercedes van, escorted by a green Toyota Land Cruiser, for their first closed-door session with the Commander-in-Chief.

In attendance were the Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waidi Shuaibu; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Ibrahim Abbas; Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke; and the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General E.A.P. Undiendeye, who retained his position.

The meeting comes barely three days after Tinubu announced sweeping changes in the military hierarchy, in what the Presidency described as part of efforts to “strengthen Nigeria’s national security architecture.”
