Speaking on the second day of the Mustapha Abdullahi Energy Leadership Fellowship (MAELF) 2026 in Abuja, Abdullahi said young people do not need influential connections to succeed, stressing that competence, preparation and confidence remain the greatest assets for anyone seeking to make meaningful contributions to national development.
The re-nomination was confirmed on Friday at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, where President Bola Tinubu formally retained Vice President Shettima as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election during the party’s nomination process.
He described the progress recorded in the sector as transformational, noting that the government’s interventions are gradually reshaping Nigeria’s energy landscape and positioning the country for a more sustainable future.
The intervention comes at a critical time, as AKTH recently suffered prolonged power outages that resulted in the tragic loss of lives in its Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Abdullahi noted that the incident further strengthened the Commission’s resolve to provide sustainable energy solutions to vital institutions.
In recognition of his extraordinary work, Dr. Abdullahi received the Pioneer Award for Leadership in Sustainable Energy and Green Development during the Night of Honour, an event that celebrated and reaffirmed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s transformative vision.
