Supplementary Budget: Tinubu to Spend N28bn on State House Facilities, Vehicles

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made budget proposal of 28 billion to be spent on facilities and vehicles in the Presidential Villa.

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) had on Monday approved a supplementary budget of N2.1 trillion for the country out of which the President wants to send 28 billion naira.

According to a document made available to Economic Confidential, in the State House budget, a whooping N4 billion was earmarked for the renovation of the President’s official residence in Lagos.

The renovation of the Vice President’s official residence in the same Lagos will gulp the sum of N3 billion, another N4 billion was set aside for the construction of an office complex within the Aso Rock Villa.

 

The document also captured the sum of N1.5 billion approved for the purchase of official vehicles for the Office of the First Lady.

In the same vein, N2.9 billion was proposed for the purchase of SUVs, while another N2.9 billion was budgeted for the replacement of operational pool vehicles.

According to the document, the sum of N200 million was set aside for computerisation and digitalisation of the State House.

Similarly, the renovation of both Aguda House (the residence of the Vice President) and the residential quarters of the President got N2.5 billion and N4 billion respectively.

Meanwhile, the renovation and rehabilitation of two EFCC fortified quarters as State House Complex at Mabushi and Guzape, in Abuja will gulp N1.5 billion each.

Economic Confidential reports that the supplementary budget proposal is in the National Assembly, awaiting vetting and approval by Senators
