Saudi Arabia Condemns Israeli Strikes on Iran

In a strong response to the Israel’s recent military strikes on Iran, Saudi Arabia has condemned the actions as a serious threat to regional stability.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement emphasizing that the attacks violate Iran’s sovereignty and contravene international laws.

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expresses its condemnation of the military targeting of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which constitutes a violation of its sovereignty and a contravention of international laws and norms,” the ministry posted on X.

The Saudi government called for restraint from all parties involved, warning of the potential security implications for countries and populations across the region. This call for de-escalation comes amid heightened tensions following Israel’s strikes, which it claims were in retaliation for recent Iranian attacks.

The Israeli military targeted multiple sites in Iran, including military installations in Tehran and surrounding areas, aiming at air defense systems, missile sites, and drone facilities. Reports from Iranian media indicated that sustained explosions were heard starting just after 2 a.m. local time.

Iranian officials stated that the damage from the strikes was limited, with no casualties reported, attributing this to the effectiveness of their air defense systems in mitigating the impact of the assault.

POLITICS DIGEST report that as the situation develops, the international community watches closely, aware of the potential ramifications for stability in the Middle East.
