Police Launch Investigation into Viral Video Showing Officers Engaging in Unprofessional Conduct

The Nigerian Police Force has condemned a viral video showing some of its personnel engaging in unprofessional conduct, including performing guard duties for a young man and encouraging him to abuse the naira, in violation of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act.

The police have initiated steps to identify and discipline the officers involved, and have invited the young man in the video for questioning. The Force is urging the public to come forward with any information that can aid in the investigation.

The police statement described the conduct of the officers as “unethical, demeaning, undignifying, and unprofessional” and assured that appropriate sanctions will be taken.

The investigation is being handled by the Nigeria Police Force Intelligence Department, and the public is assured that the matter will be brought to a conclusive and definitive end.”
