The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali
Pate, has tasked the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to monitor disbursed funds to ensure proper implementation at the state level.

Professor Pate made this known during the presentation of the health sector achievements at the Ministerial Sectorial Update on Friday in Abuja.

According to him, “the transparency of disbursing the Primary Health Care Provision (BHCPF) funds was enhanced by conducting it publicly and establishing a hotline for Nigerians to report any misuse of resources.”

“Oversight bodies such as the ICPC and EFCC are also encouraged to monitor to ensure that the implementation at the state level aligns with the intended objectives, particularly in terms of infrastructure, equipment and to ensure that the resources are not misused.”

He however noted that state governors have been helpful in aligning with the President Bola Tinubu’s vision for increasing investments in the health sector.
