The husband of the Oyo school principal who was abducted by armed men has revealed that he blocked the kidnappers’ phone numbers after repeated ransom demands, saying he believed cutting off communication was the best decision under the circumstances.
Speaking about the traumatic experience, he explained that the abductors continued to make threatening calls while demanding money for his wife’s release. According to him, the emotional and psychological pressure became overwhelming, prompting him to block the numbers.
He said the decision was not made out of indifference but was based on his conviction that engaging further with the kidnappers would not guarantee his wife’s safety. He also described the period as one of the most difficult moments his family has ever faced.
The incident has renewed concerns over the growing wave of kidnappings across the country, with many Nigerians calling for stronger security measures to protect citizens and curb criminal activities.
