No fewer than 1,250 teachers’ job are on the line as Nasarawa State Government plans to disengage them.

Mohammed Dan’azimi, Executive Chairman, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), explained that the teachers may be laid off for not possessing the requisite teaching qualification.

Dan’azimi who was speaking through his representative, Hajia Hashiya Ahmed, the secretary of the board, stated that the committee has been given the mandate to take every necessary step to ensure that the affected teachers are registered with National Teachers Institute (NTI) and Collage of Education Akwanga to obtain requisite teaching qualification.

Ahmed added that there will be no tolerance for quackery, just as no teacher will be allowed to teach in any primary school in the state without a requisite teaching qualification.
