NYSC  Debunks Fake  Trust Fund Advertisement

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has debunked a fake advertisement circulating on social media about the launch of the NYSC Trust Fund portal and registration link for serving and ex-corps members.

The NYSC, in a statement issued on Saturday by its Director, Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, said that the advertisement is not from the scheme and is the handiwork of fraudsters bent on defrauding unsuspecting Nigerians.

“The NYSC Trust Fund is still awaiting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s assent, and therefore the existence of an NYSC Portal and link to register for the fund is only a ruse.

“When the Trust Fund is passed into law, modalities to access the fund will be officially made known to Nigerians through the print and electronic media as well as NYSC official handles in the social media, among others,” it’s reads.

The statement however urged the general public to disregard the fake advertisement and not to fall prey to fraudsters.

“The NYSC management wishes to reiterate that the NYSC Trust Fund is still awaiting Mr President’s assent and that there is no official portal or registration link for the fund at the moment. Any information to the contrary should be disregarded,” the statement reads.
