The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, has reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s energy transition and strengthening energy security.
In an Independence Day message marking Nigeria’s 66th anniversary, Dr. Abdullahi described the country’s journey as one of resilience, sacrifice and enduring faith in the promise of Nigeria.
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to Nigeria’s energy future, particularly the Renewed Hope Agenda and initiatives aimed at expanding access to clean and sustainable energy.
Dr. Abdullahi said the country’s energy transition remained a national imperative, stressing that the ECN would continue to advance initiatives such as the Renewed Hope Solarization Programme to expand clean energy access, strengthen energy security and create new opportunities for Nigerians.
“The Nigeria we desire is possible. Nations that are great today were once laying their foundations. We too can rise, compete and lead among the world’s greatest nations, and even surpass them,” he said.
The ECN boss urged Nigerians to remain united and patriotic, saying collective faith, cooperation and purposeful action were essential to building a stronger nation.
He said Nigeria’s future belonged to a country that believed in itself and was prepared to translate its vast potential into sustainable development. Dr. Abdullahi congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad on the 66th Independence Anniversary.
