The Nigeria Governors’ Forum has expressed deep grief over the fatal crash of a Nigerian Air Force aircraft in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
In a condolence statement issued on Tuesday, NGF Chairman and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, commiserated with the families, colleagues and loved ones of the military personnel and other victims of the crash.
The governors also extended their sympathies to the leadership of the Nigerian Air Force and the entire Armed Forces of Nigeria, describing the incident as a profound national loss.
AbdulRazaq acknowledged the sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces in the service of the country, saying the courage and dedication of those who lost their lives would not be forgotten.
The NGF also commended the Nigerian Air Force, security agencies, emergency responders, the Ondo State Government and residents of Igbokoda for their efforts in the search and recovery operations.
The Nigerian Air Force has confirmed that all persons aboard the aircraft died in the crash, while an investigation has been ordered to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
