Building on the momentum of recent precision strikes by U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) in Sokoto, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its offensive, neutralizing several bandits and destroying a key Improvised Explosive Device (IED) manufacturing hub in Zamfara State.

The operation, conducted on Sunday, December 28, 2025, marks a strategic expansion of the air campaign against terrorist networks in the North-West. Executed by the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, the missions targeted Turba Hill and Kachalla Dogo Sule’s Camp in Tsafe Local Government Area.

Dismantling the Turba Hill Enclave

Following the pattern of high-intelligence coordination seen in the Sokoto strikes, NAF air assets targeted Turba Hill after persistent Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) identified a zinc-roofed structure central to bandit operations.

A precision strike resulted in a direct hit, with Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) confirming the complete destruction of the operational structure and the neutralization of multiple bandits present at the site.

Neutralizing the IED Manufacturing Hub

The second phase targeted Kachalla Dogo Sule’s Camp, a notorious stronghold identified as the primary factory for IEDs used in recent attacks along the Dan Sadau–Magami axis.

The strike triggered secondary explosions and intense fires, effectively crippling the group’s capacity to manufacture the landmines and explosive devices often used to ambush security forces and civilians.

This operation follows the Christmas Day airstrikes in Sokoto, where AFRICOM utilized long-distance drones to degrade ISIS-linked Lakurawa cells. The NAF’s latest mission reinforces the “blockade strategy” aimed at denying criminal elements safe havens across the Sahelian corridor.
