Military’ll Continue to Protect Democracy — Gen. Musa

CDS Major-General Christopher Musa

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin, on Friday assured of the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s (AFN) commitment to protect democracy in Nigeria.

Musa, who have the assurance when he paid a courtesy call, to the leaders of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs ( NSCIA) at the National Mosque, Abuja.

In a statement by the Director Defence Information, Brigadier General, Tukur Gusau.

The CDS acknowledged the challenges the country is facing at the moment, but assured that the AFN effort will make the country grow for better.

According to him, “Nigeria will surely be safe”.

Stating the purpose of the his viait, the Musa said “I’m here to convey good tidings from the Armed Forces of Nigeria to the entire Muslim Ummahs and to profoundly thank the islamic leaders for their relentless prayers towards the AFN and the nation in general.”

General Musa noted that the Armed Forces of Nigeria ( AFN) is highly United and committed to the civil authority.

Responding, the representative of the National President of the NSCIA His Eminence, Sultan Abubakar, Muhammad Saad consoled the CDS on the recent loss of Military personnel in a plane crash at Niger State.

At the event, Barrister Haroun Eze noted that the NSCIA has always prayed for the military in it’s fight against insurgency and terrorism. He also called for a peaceful resolution to the political situation in our neighboring Niger Republic.
