Nigeria’s agricultural sector has recorded its highest investment levels in four years, fuelled largely by a thriving livestock industry.

Data shows investments rising steadily from $1.8 million in Q1 2022 to $4.8 million in Q1 2023, before jumping to $15.8 million in Q1 2024. The momentum continued into 2025, with Q1 attracting $24.2 million, an over 50% leap from the previous year.

Analysts say the livestock boom has played a central role in driving this surge, reinforcing agriculture’s growing appeal to investors.
