A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the remand of Abdulrasheed Maina, former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), at Kuje correctional centre until his trial is concluded.

Justice Okon Abang of the court gave the order at the resumed trial of the ex-pension boss on Friday.

Maina is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on N2bn money laundering charges. He had jumped bail and fled to the Republic of Niger but was arrested on Monday and extradited to Nigeria on Thursday.

The defendant is already on bench warrant, his bail having been revoked,” Justice Abang said.

“So, he shall be remanded in correctional service pending completion of trial.”

More details soon.
