JUST IN: PDP Suspends National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, over Anti-party Activitie

The National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu, has been suspended by the party.

Ayu was suspended by Igyorov ward executive members of the party in Benue state.

His suspension was read by the ward Secretary, Vangeryina Dooyum, after the excos met and reviewed the Governorship and State Assembly elections which found him guilty of anti-party activities.

Ayu’s suspension is coming on the heels of accusations that the National Chairman worked for the victory of the All Progressives Congress, APC, during the March 18, 2023 election held in the state.

Ayu had been at the forefront of the G-5 crisis with governors of the party, including Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue, working against the presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The G-5 governors vowed not to work for the party in the February 25 election if Ayu does not resign.

Ayu sat tight and PDP lost in all the five states in contention.
