The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reopened its National Identification Number (NIN) alignment service, giving eligible candidates another opportunity to correct discrepancies between their examination records and data held by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
The Board announced the reopening on Friday, October 16, through its official X account, stressing that the window is a one-time opportunity and that approval of applications is not automatic.
JAMB advised candidates to first correct any errors in their NIN records through NIMC and ensure the changes have been updated before applying for alignment with their JAMB biodata.
Candidates were also urged to review their information carefully and select all necessary corrections in a single submission to avoid mistakes that could affect their applications.
The Board said the eligibility requirements, application procedure and verification process are explained in a video released under its JAMB Explained series.
It cautioned applicants against submitting incomplete or inaccurate information and advised them to rely only on official JAMB communication channels for guidance.
The reopening is intended to help eligible candidates reconcile inconsistencies in their personal records used in the tertiary admission process.
