Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has dismissed claims that his administration is engaged in a political battle with his predecessors, including former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
Otti said his administration had no interest in discrediting previous governments, stressing that governance should be treated as a continuum.
The governor spoke through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, while responding to criticism over the condition of the Okezuo Abia Flyover in Osisioma Ngwa.
According to the statement, the state government had taken note of integrity concerns surrounding the flyover and was working towards a lasting solution.
Otti’s administration also said it had previously inspected the flyover after signs of failure were observed in 2024, with remedial work subsequently carried out.
The government maintained that while it would not seek to erase the legacy of previous administrations, it would ask questions and take corrective action where necessary on projects executed with public funds.
