How  NAF Neutralisesld 32 Insurgents After Attack on Borno Community

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has killed at least 32 Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters in coordinated airstrikes following a deadly attack on Banki, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State, PRNigeria learnt.

The assault, which occurred at about 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, targeted the Bula Yobe Forward Operating Base (FOB), troops of 152 Battalion of the Nigerian Army, and the Divisional Police Headquarters in Banki.

According to Zagazola, security sources confirmed that two soldiers and a nine-year-old boy, identified as Ismail Abubakar, lost their lives during the attack, while three military vehicles were set ablaze by the terrorists.

Following distress calls, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai was activated to support troops on the ground. An Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform, Grey Raptor, tracked the movement of the insurgents as they retreated northwards from Banki.

Guided by ISR feeds, two A-29 Super Tucano aircraft executed three successive air interdiction missions. The strikes successfully engaged insurgents on the move and others regrouping at two assembly points with logistics.

The precision strikes neutralised more than 25 terrorists at the assembly areas and others fleeing the battlefield, bringing the total figure to 32.

The remains of the two fallen soldiers were evacuated to the Headquarters of Operation Hadin Kai in Maiduguri, while the body of the slain minor was released to his family for burial according to Islamic rites.
