Veteran Nollywood actor Sunday Afolabi, popularly known for his role in Owo Blow, has opened up about the financial difficulties and personal challenges that forced him into commercial minibus driving. PUNCH lists the interview as published on August 12, 2026.

Afolabi, who rose to prominence in the Yoruba film industry during the 1990s and early 2000s, reportedly turned to commercial driving as a means of surviving when acting opportunities declined. He had previously returned to acting after a viral video showed him working as a commercial driver.

The actor’s story highlights the financial struggles that some veteran entertainers face when opportunities in the industry become limited. Despite the hardship, Afolabi has continued pursuing his acting career, with reports of his return to the screen generating support from colleagues and fans.
