Edo State Government has announced the death of its seventh coronavirus patient receiving treatment at its isolation centre.

This was disclosed by the state governor, Godwin Obaseki via his official Twitter handle on Monday, but the identity of the patient was not disclosed.

Obaseki also noted that another patient was discharged in the state, taking the total in the state to 58.

“We have discharged 1 more #Covid_19 patient from our isolation centres, bringing the total number of those discharged to 58. Sadly, we recorded a death, making it the 7th fatality,” the governor wrote.

“It is important to visit the screening centres in the 18 LGAs to know your status. Stay safe.”

The state recorded 19 new cases out of the 313 announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC on sunday night.
