18 coronavirus patients have tested negative twice for coronavirus and have been successfully discharged in Edo State.

Governor Godwin Obaseki made the disclosure on Sunday via his verified Twitter handle.

“We have discharged 18 patients who have tested negative for #COVID19 from our isolation centres. This brings the total number of discharged persons to 57,” Obaseki tweeted.

“I implore all residents to take advantage of the screening centres across the 18 LGAs to know their status. Stay safe.”

The state on Saturday recorded 28 new COVID-19 cases, out of the 265 fresh infections confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.

The governor also felicitated with the Muslim faithful in the state on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

“On behalf of the Government and people of #EdoState, I felicitate with our Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr,” he wrote.
