Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that he spends as much as $300,000 (about ₦460 million) every month to maintain his lifestyle and responsibilities while living in Nigeria.

Speaking during a recent interview, the award-winning singer explained that the high cost covers his security, staff salaries, logistics, family responsibilities and other personal expenses. He noted that living in Nigeria as a public figure comes with significant financial demands.

Davido said the level of support he provides to those around him, coupled with the need for constant security and operational costs, contributes to his substantial monthly expenditure.

The singer’s comments have since sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many fans expressing surprise at the amount, while others argued that such expenses are expected given his celebrity status and business interests.

Davido remains one of Africa’s biggest music stars, with a career spanning more than a decade and multiple international collaborations.
