The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has called for unity and harmony as a catalyst to national growth.

He made the call on Thursday, September 5, 2023, during a visit to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) headquarters in Abuja.

Speaking during the visit, in a statement signed by Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General, Tukur Gusau said the CDS appreciated CAN for its prayers and support to the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN). He also reiterated the commitment of the AFN towards supporting our democracy.

“Unity and harmony are essential for national growth,” said the CDS. “Our differences should enhance national development rather than division.”

General Musa added that the business of securing the nation is a collective effort, as no one can do it alone. He urged all Nigerians to work together to build a more peaceful and prosperous country.

In his response, the CAN President, His Eminence, Most Reverend, Dr Daniel Okoh, thanked the CDS for visiting.

He assured the CDS of CAN’s continuous support to the AFN to be able to deliver on its constitutional responsibilities.

“We are closer to the grassroots, We will continue to pray for the AFN and support them in any way we can.

The CDS’s visit to CAN is a significant gesture that underscores the importance of interfaith dialogue and cooperation in building a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria”, said Dr Okoh.
