BREAKING: Ethiopian Sintayehy Yinnesu emerges winner of the 2019 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon

Sintayehu Yinesu of Ethiopia has  on Saturday emerged winner of the 2019 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.

Yinesu breast the tape in a time of 2.17.20 to grab the ultimate prize of $50,000.

Joshua Kipkorir of Kenya also  came second with a time record of 2.18.16 to go home with $30,000 while William Yegon, also of Kenya, came third with a record of 2.19.04.

Goyet Gideon of Nigeria came 14th and first from the nation to finish the race.

Meleka Dinke, still from Ethiopia, was the first female to finish the race. She ended at 2:48:03.

The race started in the early hours of Saturday day from the National Stadium, Surulere and ended at the Eko Atlantic City.

This is the fourth edition of the race which fully sponsored by Access Bank PLC with participants from different countries in the African continent.
