A Benin based humanitarian and action group, Action Integrated Movement (AIM), has donated palliatives to some less privileged persons across the Benin metropolis, MERIDIAN SPY, can report. The donations were made on Wednesday in Benin by representatives of the group to some of the “poorest of the poor.” The palliatives were food items donated as relief materials to cushion the effects of hunger and partial lockdown activities currently in place in the state. The Government of Japan has added 14 more countries to its entry ban list. Japan’s Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, said Monday that his country was adding 14 more countries as a precautionary measure to curtail the spread of coronavirus in the country. The King of Saudi Arabia has said it was going to relax the ongoing curfew occasioned by the rising number of coronavirus patients in the country. Eighty-six new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), taking Nigeria’s total infections to 627. The NCDC confirmed this late on Sunday via a statement on Twitter. According to the agency, of the 86 new cases, seventy were in Lagos, seven in FCT, three in Katsina, three in Akwa Ibom, one in Jigawa, one in Bauchi and one in Borno. One case previously reported in Kano, has been transferred to Jigawa state.Therefore, the total number of confirmed cases in Kano is 36 as at the 19th of April 2020.
