No fewer than 30 people, including police officers and soldiers, have died following an attack by Boko Haram terrorists on the convoy of Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State. Aside the security personnel, four members of a government-backed militia and nine civilians who were in the convoy of the Governor were also said to have been killed in the attack which occurred on Friday. Julie Okah-Donli, Director-General of the National Agency for Prohibition of Traffic in Persons (NAPTIP) has raised an alarm of Nigerians dying in Sahara desert and Mediterranean due to trafficking. At least 20 people, including some school children, have died in an explosion resulting from a petrol tanker accident in Lokoja, Kogi State capital. Traders and pedestrians were also among the casualties following the traguc incident which occurred on Wednesday morning.
