The founder of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Group, Chief Olasubomi Balogun, has passed away. The Ijebu high chief reportedly passed on, on Friday morning at the age of 89. Balogun, who had celebrated his 89th birthday on Thursday, March 9, reportedly died in a London hospital after a brief illness. Details later.

The Central Bank of Nigeria says the total assets of the Nigerian banking industry rose by 25.12 per cent in one year to N77.59tn as of the end of February 2023.
