The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the Appeal Court judgement in the Kano State governorship election petition going round the social media contained a typographical error.

APC argued that the contentious paragraph could be due to a typographical error as a result of the pressure the Appeal Court officials are going through.

The Appeal Court had in its ruling upheld the verdict of the Tribunal which sacked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and awarded victory to his APC counterpart, Nasir Gawuna.

Days after the ruling however, the CTC of the judgement released by the Court was quoted in a particular sentence to have accepted the appeal of the Governor and awarded victory to him.

The National Legal Adviser of the APC, Prof. Abdulkareem Abubakar Kana, while addressing the press at the party secretariat on Wednesday, said the party is yet to receive the CTC of the judgement.

He added that the pronouncement of the court during judgement delivery cannot differ from what is contained in the CTC, stressing that if that happens, it has to be a typographical error.

“So I don’t think the explanation needs to come from us. But for us, we can only render our own perspective as a part to the entire review on what is going on.

“But as to the explanation that the error happened in the cost of typing the judgement, it is for the court to provide explanation and I am sure they would have done that by now,” he said
