Akpabio Tongue Lashes FCT Senator for Fighting Wike

The Senate President has derided his colleague, and instead sided with the Federal Capital Territory minister Nyesom Wike as the feud between the minister and Senator Ireti Kingibe gains more attention across the country.

Senator Kingibe had belittled the efforts of Wike to transform the capital territory. She said that the FCT lacked basic social amenities including schools, hospitals and roads.

Wike replied her by challenging her to contest again in the FCT and that she would never win the election. Nigerians have condemned Wike for making this statement and for making himself appear as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Senator Godswill Akpabio said, “I saw one of the legislators on television talking about you (Wike) and mentioning the fact that she was not carried along,” he said.

“Well, she is a member of the Senate. Once a decision is taken, she is bound by the decision. So, please ignore every distraction (from her) and be rest assured that no matter what you do, not everyone will praise you. Others will still try to find faults,” Mr Akpabio told Mr Wike, who was beaming with smiles.
