Again, Police Extend Tinted Glass Permit Enforcement to October

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced a further extension of the grace period for enforcing the Tinted Glass Permit requirement for vehicles, shifting the new enforcement date to October 2, 2025.

Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, approved the extension following a surge in applications through the official portal, possap.gov.ng.

According to the Force, the move aims to allow adequate time for thorough scrutiny of applications to ensure that permits are granted only to eligible and qualified applicants in line with national security considerations.

The Police explained that the delay will also enable the continued refinement of both digital and physical verification processes to maintain the integrity of the permit system and curb potential abuse.

Citizens have been advised to disregard unofficial channels and to report cases of extortion, hidden charges, or unauthorized processing to the Police, including via the dedicated hotline 08147818871.

The Force, in a statement signed by Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, appreciated public cooperation, pledging to balance convenience for law-abiding citizens with robust security measures to ensure public safety.
