The Cross River State Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Prince Eka Williams, has died at a hospital in Abuja.
Williams reportedly died suddenly on Saturday, September 12, 2026, while receiving medical attention in the nation’s capital. His death was announced by his brother, Nkang William, in a statement issued on Sunday.
The announcement has thrown the Cross River political and public service community into mourning, with tributes already pouring in for the late commissioner.
His brother described the deceased as not only a beloved sibling but also a companion whose sudden passing had left the family struggling to come to terms with the loss.
Michael Gabriel Jr., Executive Media Assistant to Senator John Owan-Enoh, described Williams as a dedicated public servant and a good man whose contributions would remain in the memories of those he touched.
