72 Healthcare Workers Test Positive For COVID-19 In Enugu

No fewer than 72 health workers have tested positive for coronavirus in Enugu State.

This was made known by the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Ikechukwu Obi on Friday.

Obi said the 72 infected health workers were among a total of 202 that have tested positive in Enugu.

He also confirmed 28 new COVID-19 cases in the state announced on Thursday night by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The total laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Enugu, according to him, are 202 with 154 cases on treatment while 43 cases discharged.

The Health Commissioner also disclosed that the number of confirmed COVID-19 related deaths, in the state stands at 5.

He further encouraged residents to live adhere to the NCDC protocol, stressing that COVID19 is real.
