Chief Nnia Nwodo, President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, says the appointment of Kaycee Madu as Minister of Justice in Canada is an indication of the Igbos of South East ability to transform Nigeria if given the support for the presidency in 2023.

Madu, a Nigerian-born from the South East, was appointed as Justice Minister and Solicitor General in Alberta, in Canada on Tuesday, making him the first black man to occupy either Provincial or Federal Justice positions of the Justice Minister, Attorney General or Solicitor General in the country.

In his congratulatory message through Chief Emeka Attamah, his Media Adviser, on Friday, Nwodo said appealed to the Federal Government to stop marginalising and victimising the Igbo, so that their latent potentials could be harnessed for the good of all and the advancement of the country.

According to him, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo was “highly honoured” by the exploits of Madu in Canada as an Igbo son, The Punch reports.

“On behalf of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, I commend the sterling qualities of Mr Kaycee Madu, as well as other Igbo sons and daughters who have excelled so much outside the country, such as the recently appointed first black Vice Chancellor of Leeds Trinity University in the UK, Prof Charles Egbu, and many others,” said the Ohanaeze president.

“The exploits of Igbo sons and daughters both within and outside the country are indices of the cerebral capability and ingenuity of the people which Nigeria could exploit to advance its development.”
