The gubernatorial candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, Engr. Kabir Abba Yusuf, has been declared winner of the 2023 Kano State Governorship election.
He was declared winner and returned elected a few minutes after 7am this morning, by the election’s returning officer, Prof. Ahmed Doko, a Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Abba Kabir, popularly called Abba Gida Gida, scored 1, 019,602 votes to defeat his arch rival and serving Deputy Governor of the State, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who polled 890,705 votes.
