Yoruba Group Calls for South-West Security Summit

A prominent Yoruba socio-cultural group has called for the convening of a South-West Security Summit to address growing security concerns across the region.

The group said the proposed summit would bring together governors, traditional rulers, security agencies, community leaders and other stakeholders to develop practical strategies for tackling kidnapping, banditry and other criminal activities.

According to the group, stronger collaboration among regional governments and security institutions is essential to improving intelligence sharing, enhancing community policing and protecting lives and property.

The appeal comes amid increasing calls for coordinated security measures as communities across the South-West continue to seek lasting solutions to emerging security challenges.
