Yakubu Daniel, an alumnus of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), has renovated two lecture halls in the Faculty of Arts, providing a conducive learning environment for students.

The renovated lecture halls, popularly known as A-Block, was in a state of disrepair, with issues ranging from congestion and poor ventilation to dilapidated furniture.

The MeridianSpy gathered that Yakubu’s generosity of renovating  the facility has made the halls transformed into a modern and comfortable space.

The automobile and real estate mogul noted that his decision to give back to his alma mater was inspired by his personal experience as a student, where he witnessed firsthand the challenges posed by the lecture hall’s condition.

“I remember the struggles we faced as students, and I wanted to make a positive impact.I believe that a conducive learning environment is essential for academic success, and I’m glad I could contribute to that.

“Harvard is what it is today because of the intervention of alumni. As for me, I will keep supporting that community, so that the next generation of students will have access to a good atmosphere to learn in. I therefore call on members of our alumni body who can, to support this intervention course,” Yakubu said.

The renovation project, which was completed recently, has been hailed as a significant boost to the faculty. Students and lecturers alike have expressed gratitude for Yakubu’s kindness, praising his selfless act.

“This renovation has transformed our learning experience,” said a student. “We’re grateful for Yakubu’s generosity and commitment to our education.”
