US President, Donald Trump has again said chloroquine should be used as antiviral drug to treat coronavirus patients.

In a tweet on Saturday, the US president directs the immediate use of the drug.

Trump noted: “HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE & AZITHROMYCIN (an antibiotic), taken together, have a real chance to be one of the biggest game-changers in the history of medicine. Be put in use immediately.”

Speaking later at a news conference at the White House, the president said: “what do we have to lose?”

Critics have however warned of the risk of using the drug for COVID-19 treatment.
